Introducing Tommy O'Connor as new Exectuve Directore of VASA
I wanted to reach out to all of our members to introduce myself as the new Executive Director for VASA.
I am originally from Bristol, CT and came to Vermont in 2004 to attend Johnson State College (NVU). After completing my studies in Outdoor Education and Psychology I began working for the college as an Assistant Director of Admissions. While in that role I traveled the eastern seaboard recruiting students and I served as the liaison for veteran status students and athletic recruits. While at Johnson I earned a Masters in Athletic Leadership from Castleton University.
I then joined Lamoille North Supervisory Union and oversaw their five elementary school summer and after -school programs. I also was a member of the reopening team which was created to get students back to the buildings following the shutdown due to COVID. I also just completed my 14th season as a Boy's Lacrosse Coach for Lamoille Union High School
Most recently I was the Executive Director at Vermont Farm Bureau. I worked on all issues pertaining to agriculture. I also served on two national committees focusing on member retention and training field staff. I worked closely with the legislators in Montpelier and Washington D.C. discussing major issues around Vermont ag.
I am thrilled to join this organization and so far I have received several offers to come ride on your trail systems and I will work to get to as many as I can. Thank you all for the warm welcome.
I have the director@vtvasa.org email and feel free to reach out with questions or to say hi.
Thank you all.
Sincerely,
Tommy O'Connor
